Jammu: A major was killed in an IED blast near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district Saturday, officials said.
According to reports, the officer was from the Corps of Engineers who died while defusing the improvised explosive device.
According to sources, the explosive had been planted by terrorists from Pakistan.
The incident took place in Nowshera sector.
Notably, Thursday afternoon a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district, killing at least 45 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.
