Nayagarh: Nayagarh police have arrested an auto-rickshaw driver for possessing firearms.
He has been identified as Deepak Kumar Balabantaray, a resident of Jadumani Nagar in Nayagarh NAC.
According to reports, Deepak was involved in weapon trafficking. He brings firearms from Kendrapara and sells it at Nayagarh town.
Getting information that Deepak was waiting for a customer to sell a pistol for Rs 60,000 near Ratanpur, police raided the spot and nabbed him Tuesday evening. A 9 mm pistol, two magazines and six rounds of live bullets were seized from his possession.
The police, who registered a case and forwarded the accused to court, said Deepak had links with Babu, who is an associate of gangster Tito.
