Cuttack: BLS Bajarangi (6/5) bowled a devastating spell to help Cuttack A script a massive 249 runs victory over Boudh in a match of the U-16 Inter-District cricket tournament at the Bidanasi Ground here Thursday.
Opting to bat first the hosts rode on patient half centuries by Prince Sanket Behera (63, 78b, 8×4, 1×6) and Sumeet Rout (61, 99b, 6×4) to score a challenging total of 321 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Sibani Shankar Parida (2/67) and Sobhandev Behera (2/45) scalped two wickets each for the visitors.
In reply Boudh were never on the chase as they could not face a fiery spell from Bajarangi and were bundled out for a paltry 72 in 24 overs. Barring Sibani (24) no one could give any resistance with the bat.

Carrom tourney
Odisha State Carrom Association (OSCA) will organise the VIIIth Inter-District Carrom Championship at the Kalinga Stadium here, June 8-11. “The tournament will be played under four categories. One hundred twenty participants across the state will participate in the competition. OSCA will also organise a referee examination after the tournament,” stated OSCA secretary Skeh Abdulla.
