Cuttack: A woman in Cuttack district alleged that she has been tested positive for novel COVID-19 without any testing for the virus. Well as bizarre as it might sound, it is true!
The woman is a resident of Bauri Sahi in Bidanasi area of the city. Sources added, the woman’s 6-year-old son had showed symptoms of COVID-19 following which the family had admitted the little boy to a COVID-19 Care Centre.

The woman also had to stay at the COVID-19 Care Centre at Bidyadharpur to take care of her son after her son tested positive for the virus July 23. However, after proper treatment, the boy was cured
After his son’s report came negative, doctor discharged them from the COVID Care Centre. When the woman checked the discharge report she was shocked to see her name in the COVID-19 list of the discharge report.
The woman alleged that the doctors had not taken any swab samples or blood samples for COVID-19 testing from her at the COVID Care Centre. She questioned as to how she had been declared as COVID-19 positive by COVID Care Centre authority.
Though she queried about the matter, the COVID Care Centre authorities paid no heed towards it, she said.
Family of the woman, which is dependent on dairy farming for livelihood, has been undergoing severe inconvenience after the incident as people in the locality have stopped buying milk from them. The locals have also ostracized the woman’s family, she alleged.
Locals are not allowing her to use the water facilities in the area. They are treated badly if she or anyone from her family dares to step out of their house. This has become mental stress for me and my family, the woman said.
She demanded an answer from the COVID-19 care authorities.
