Mumbai: Internet sensation Ranu Mondal, who used to sing at a railway station in West Bengal, is now a celebrity and her name in on everyone’s lips.
A viral video in which she was seen singing Lata Mangeshkar‘s song ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai’ changed Ranu’s fate.
Videos of Ranu even reached the Hindi film industry and she was called to appear in music composer Himesh Reshammiya’s reality show ‘Superstar Singer’. Here Himesh gave her a chance to sing in his film. Himesh has recorded a song with Ranu and a video of the duo from the studios spread like fire on social media.
Now Ranu has got the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya recently showered Ranu with praise.
He said, “There is no dearth of talent in Bengal! The talent of Ranu Mondal ji, who sang at a Kolkata railway station, was discovered by and now her popularity is touching heights.”
Along with this, Kailash Vijayvargiya also praised Himesh Reshammiya and thanked him. He further wrote- “Thank you to the composer Mr. #HimeshReshammiya ji for giving this singer a chance!”

After Himesh, Ranu got another offer from Bhojpuri actor-singer Pradeep Pandey Chintu. He said, “I will record a song with Ranu very soon. The speed with which Ranu ji is making a place in the hearts of people is amazing. When I heard her song, I became fan of her.”
As soon as Ranu became famous, memes also went viral on social media. In these memes, many users mimicked Himesh and Ranu in the studio. Suffice to say, Ranu has come a long way from singing at a railway station.
