Bhubaneswar: The BJP state youth wing led a grand Tiranga Yatra Thursday to mark the 79th Independence Day, under the guidance of state president Abhilash Panda.

The rally saw participation from Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, BJP state vice-president Biranchi Narayan Tripathy, state general secretary Sarada Prasad Satapathy, district president Niranjan Mishra, and others.

Participants carried a one-kilometre-long national flag as the rally moved from Rupali Square to Master Canteen Square, accompanied by music, dance, and patriotic slogans.

Panda stated that the tricolour symbolises the nation’s pride, identity, and patriotism, and should be displayed not just in schools and institutions but in every home.

The BJYM is organising similar rallies statewide to promote this message.

“The tricolour is our identity. Every Indian, everywhere, should celebrate this Independence Day with zeal,” he added.

Minister Mahapatra called the tricolour a symbol of the sacrifices of freedom fighters and soldiers for India’s unity and independence.

Tripathy and Satapathy dedicated the event to the nation’s soldiers and martyrs.
