Phulbani: The body of a young girl was found hanging from a tree at Nedipada forest in Kandhamal district Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shrabani Bhoi (19) of Katringa village near Gochhapada.
According to reports, Shrabani returned home after going to the forest with her mother. Later, she took Rs 400 from her mother and has been reportedly missing since October 16.
The family members had lodged a complaint with the police after failing to trace her.
Police, who found her body from the forest Saturday, have started an investigation.
