New Delhi: Two days ago, Kishore Ranjan Rout had passed an MBA examination and shared the result with his family and friends. The Border Security Force (BSF) constable could have got a departmental promotion shortly.
However, these dreams were shattered with Rout dying in the plane crash near IGI airport in Delhi Tuesday. This has left his family demanding a job for his wife so that she can take care of the family. A resident Deulatara village in Kendrapada district, Kishore is survived by his wife, two children — nine years old and two years old — and elderly parents.
“It is a heart breaking accident. Kishore bhai was the sole bread earner in his family. His death has devastated the entire family. How will his wife take care of his children and his elderly parents? We urge the BSF to give a job to his wife who is an educated girl,” said Manoj Kumar Samal, Kishore’s cousin.
“His father has retired from the BSF. Kishore was a brilliant student. He was the only one in his batch to have passed a training examination in Paris. He had also secured an MBA degree just two days ago and was happy that he would get a departmental promotion soon. He was dreaming of providing good education to his sons. Everything was shattered in a moment,” said another cousin Satyabrata Samal who was staying near Kishore’s house in New Delhi.
The wife and elderly mother of the BSF jawan were wailing inconsolably at Safdarjung Airport where his coffin was kept for paying tributes.
Union home minister Rajanath Singh and minister of state for home Kiren Rijju paid tributes to all 10 paramilitary personnel who were killed in the Superking B 200 plane crash.
Bereaved family members and relatives of the victims confronted the home minister with a slew of questions on the security of troops including why old aircraft are being used putting lives of soldiers at risk.
