Keonjhar: A youth was seriously hurt in a fresh incident of attack by a group of miscreants who branded him a child-lifter, at Hudko Colony here Friday. Victim Digambhar Lohar told the cops the gang intentionally targeted him out of previous enmity.
Police said they rescued him while lying in a pool of blood and he was admitted to the district hospital in Keonjhar. The attack was made while he was crossing the colony by foot. Some youths shouted at him saying he was a child-lifter. A crowd gathered, and they attacked him, police said.
Police did some investigation and said no issue of child-lifting was involved. The victim’s father works in the police department, it was learnt.
