Bhubaneswar, May 2: Chinmay Pradhan of Orissa finished runner-up in the men’s singles event of the AITA Men’s and Women’s rankings tennis tournament at Raipur, Saturday.
In the final, top seed Chinmay was shocked by second seed Aditya Tiwari of Madhya Pradesh 5-7, 0-6. The first set was closely fought, but in the second set Chinmay was no match for the MP lad. Aditya dominated the game completely, giving no chance to Chinmay breaking the latter’s serve thrice in the set to run out a comfortable winner.
In the women’s singles final, second seed M Arthi of Tamil Nadu stunned top seed Preethi Ujjini of Karnataka to emerge champion.
