Bhubaneswar: CIPET: CSTS, Bhubaneswar, and MCL, Sambalpur, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide employment-oriented training programmes under NI PUN-3, official sources said Wednesday.
The MoU was signed by MCL GM (CSR) Jyotirmoy Sinha and CIPET: CSTS, Bhubaneswar, Deputy Director and Head Jayanta Kumar Das here Tuesday, they said.
Under the agreement, 520 unemployed youths from MCL’s operational areas and aspirants from other districts of Odisha will be provided four months of free, employment-oriented training in two technical trades under NIPUN-3.
CIPET Technical Officer Prashant Kumar Sadangi discussed the successful projects undertaken by CIPET and MCL, including NIPUN-1, NIPUN-2 and Kovida.
He also highlighted initiatives such as ‘Handyman’, which promotes entrepreneurship; ‘Sahayog’, which encourages differently-abled candidates; and ‘Udaan’, which provides sustainable livelihoods to poor and needy youths.
Sinha thanked CIPET for successfully organising various skill development programmes sponsored by MCL and conveyed his best wishes and congratulations for NIPUN-3. Das appreciated the steps taken by MCL through NIPUN-3 to improve the lives of poor and needy youths.
Under NIPUN-1 and NI PUN-2, 2,000 youths across the state were trained in various trades at CIPET and provided employment.
Under MCL’s ‘Kovida’ initiative, 40 needy and unemployed youths are selected by CIPET every year and provided two-year ITI training along with employment.
