New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Saturday concluded his two-day investment outreach in Delhi-NCR, securing investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore with the potential to generate 54,135 employment opportunities in Odisha.
Of the total investment proposals, 38 MoUs worth Rs 64,703 crore were signed, with the potential to generate 46,071 jobs. Investment Intention Forms (IIFs) involving Rs 1,689 crore were also received, with the potential to create 8,064 employment opportunities. The outreach covered engineering and manufacturing, textiles and apparel, aluminium downstream industries, electronics and consumer durables, among other emerging sectors.
Following the successful Odisha Food Pro 2026 road show on the first day, Majhi, on the second day, visited the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida and interacted with senior company officials and technicians.
He reviewed the company’s manufacturing processes and systems and explored possibilities for strengthening Odisha’s manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in electronics, consumer durables, supply chains and ancillary industries. “Odisha is building an ecosystem where industries can grow, create jobs and build long-term value. Our focus is not only on attracting investment, but also on creating employment, strengthening local supply chains and opening new opportunities for the youth of Odisha. We want investors to see Odisha as a reliable and long-term partner for growth,” he said.
Majhi subsequently held one-on-one meetings with senior industry leaders in Noida to discuss investment opportunities, expansion plans, sector-specific requirements and support needed to establish and scale businesses in Odisha.
Three sector-focused roundtables were also held. The Engineering Goods Manufacturing Roundtable, organised with the Indian Industries Association, focused on manufacturing opportunities, industrial infrastructure, ancillary development and supply-chain integration. The Textile and Apparel Roundtable, organised with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, explored textile and apparel manufacturing, exports, skilled manpower and employment-intensive investments.
The Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable, organised with NALCO, discussed aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing, ancillary industries and greater participation of MSMEs. The government said the discussions helped industry leaders understand Odisha’s investment ecosystem while enabling the state to identify sector-specific requirements and facilitate future investments. Concluding the outreach, Majhi said the response from industry had been encouraging.
“Odisha is ready for the Purvodaya. The response from industry during these two days has been very encouraging. We have received investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore, with the potential to create 54,135 employment opportunities. This has been a successful investor outreach and reflects the growing confidence of industry in Odisha,” he said.
