CMC declares lifting of shutdown in Cuttack city from July 13: These are the rules that will be implemented

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipality Corporation said Sunday that the shutdown restrictions in Cuttack city and CMC area will be lifted Monday. “Cuttack will be free from shutdown tag from Monday ie 13^th July, 2020,” the CMC said. However, weekend shutdown restrictions will continue in the district as usual.

The CMC has issued orders for activities permitted and prohibited.

Permitted Activities:

1. All shops whether wholesale or retail, are allowed to operate between 5:00am to 6:00pm. However, this time restriction is not applicable for medicine shops. Night Curfew will be in force from 7:00pm to 5:00am.
2. Inter-District movement of individuals for medical reason or for activities as permitted by the competent authority.
3. Petrol pumps/Gas Agencies/Telecom Services are allowed to be functional with strict adherence to COVID-19 norms.
4. All government offices shall be opened with 50% of the employee strength as per the order of the General Administration and Public Grievances Department Government of Odisha.
5. All restaurants/Hotels are allowed to open with parcel/take away facility only.
6. Shopping malls (as per Annexure I vide this office order No-4181, dated-19.05.2020) are allowed to open subject to an undertaking for adherence of social distancing and norms of Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Measures.

Prohibited Activities:

1. All schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institution, etc will be prohibited from operation. However, online/distance learning shall be permitted.
2. Hospitality services other than those used for housing health/police/government officials/healthcare workers, stranded persons including tourists and quarantine facilities.
3. All Cinema halls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, parks, theaters, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will not be operational till further order.
4. All social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions/other gatherings will be prohibited. However, marriages with maximum 50 people and funerals with maximum 20 people will be allowed based on prior permission.

The CMC jurisdiction area reported 9 more COVID-19 cases Sunday. Among them, eight cases are from institutional quarantine centres and one is from home quarantine, CMC said on Twitter.

The patients have been shifted to COVID-19 hospitals. The process of contact tracing is underway, it was learnt.

With these new additions, the total number of cases in CMC area increased to 248. Of them, 156 patients are currently undergoing treatment at COVID-19 hospitals and 90 have so far been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the disease. The city’s COVID death toll stands at two.
