Cuttack, May 2: BB Das emerged as the sole leader with five points after the end of the fifth round in the Cuttack District Chess Championship here Saturday.
Das stunned higher rated player FM Rakesh Kumar Jena. Four players are sharing the joint second spot with four points each. They are Smaraki Mohanty, Ansuman Samal, Naryan Swain and Sumit Kumar Banerjee.
Smaraki beat Ranjan Mohanty comfortably, while Ansuman outwitted Soumya Ranjan Sahoo.
