Decision on Shah panel report soon

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: BJP national president Amit Shah Wednesday revealed that the Centre will take decision soon on Shah Commission report, which recommended for a CBI inquiry into mining scam in Orissa and Goa.
Addressing mediapersons, Shah said, “The Union government was not sitting on the Shah Commission report. It is examining the action taken reports submitted by the state governments and will take decision soon.”
Commenting on special category status for Orissa, he said, the Centre is observing every aspects and it will take a final call in this regard within a year.
Shah, who had come to the state in a two-day visit, said the BJP activists were moving from door to door and informing people about involvement of BJD leaders in the scam and corruption. When asked about his stance on BJD government, Shah said despite having rich mineral resources development in Orissa has taken a backseat during the 14-year rule of the BJD government.
“The Naveen Patnaik government has failed to usher in development and provide basic amenities to the people”, he maintained. Shah, however, rubbished the allegations that he did not utter a word against the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the public meeting held Tuesday here to gain BJD’s support in the Rajya Sabha.
On the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah expressed optimism about early resolution to end the impasse. “No decision has been taken on Jammu and Kashmir so far, but negotiations are on and a clear picture on government formation will be taken soon,” he said.
