Komna: More than 15 deserving beneficiaries have been denied old-age and disability pensions in Kalimati village under Komna block of Nuapada district.
Despite approaching the administration from panchayat to block level with supporting documents, they are yet to receive their dues.
Many of the beneficiaries seeking pension here are differently abled. They have sought intervention of district administration into the issue to get them their dues.
Block social security officer Bijay Nayak said, “These men and women could not be included in the limited government quota issued this time. However, we will include them as soon as the next lot is released.”
Although both the state and central governments have been implementing various schemes for the poor and the underprivileged, there are still scores of people in this district who have been left out of the welfare programmes.
