Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: The repeated dilly-dallying by the state government in the implementation of the e-valuation of Plus II answersheets this year has raised doubts of it becoming a reality this year.
E-evaluation will be done only for science papers this time because of lack of time, the higher education department announced.
Recently, officials have introduced a teachers’ training programme for those who are not acquainted with computer applications. All the colleges have recently been asked to prepare a list of teachers who will be involved in the e-valuation process and do not have adequate computer knowledge, according to sources. The colleges will then ensure that these teachers are provided computer training. The department has given the colleges time till February 28 for completing the training.
“The preparation of such a list of teachers now is of no use as it is very late and no one can learn even the basics of computer usage in so little time. However, the efforts are on and we will have to see how far we can be successful,” said a computer faculty member of a local college here on the request of anonymity.
The higher education department is also going to organise a training programme of master trainers’ for the e-valuation process in the city Friday. Principals of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Mothers Public School have been requested to become the resource persons for this.
“Although the process has been delayed, we have been trying our best to implement the e-valuation for Plus II from this academic year and we believe that we will be successful. The introduction of the e-evaluation process will certainly do away with the faulty manual evaluation,” said a senior official of the higher education department here.
