Balasore: A newlywed bride of a DRDO scientist in Balasore was found hanging from a ceiling fan in their rented house here Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Rashmiprava Sahoo, wife of Uday Kumar Sahoo, a junior scientist working with DRDO at Chandipur.
However, the cause behind suicide is yet to be clear.
According to reports, the newlywed couple was staying in a rented house near Fakir Mohan College road under Town Police limits in Balasore district. Rashmiprava took the extreme step by hanging herself with a rope in absence of her husband at home Tuesday.
The DRDO scientist found her hanging and rushed her to a local hospital where she was declared dead.
As there was no complaint filed at police station, police handed over the body to the family after registering an ‘unnatural death’ case following postmortem.
Reports said that Uday Sahoo is a native of Pitambarpur area in Jagatsinghpur district. He had tied the knot with Rashmiprava, the daughter of Rabinarayan Sahoo, a resident of Sailo village under Tirtol police limits in the same district May 7.
The couple was staying in Balasore after their marriage due to Uday’s job.
