Cuttack: Ace athlete of the state Dutee Chand clinched gold in the women’s 100 metres clocking 11.6 seconds while Jayashree Mukhi (14.3 seconds) bagged the silver on the opening day of the 65th Orissa State Athletic Meet held at the Barabati Stadium, Thursday. The bronze medal went to Anita Mohapatra (14.4 seconds).
Anshika Routray, daughter of Olympian Anuradha Biswal also bagged the top honours in the U-14 girl’s shot put event throwing a distance of 10.44 metre. Samiya Murmu (8.28m) took the silver while the bronze went to Sradhanjali Mishra (7.94m).
Meanwhile, Cuttack bagged a whooping 20 medals including eight yellow metals, five silver and seven bronze medals. Sundergarh secured the second position with a total of 12 medals. Mayurbhanj finished third with four medals.
