Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards leveraging emerging technologies for efficient governance, the Odisha Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) Department conducted a specialised AI sensitisation and capacity-building workshop for Director-level officers across government departments.
The program was organised through the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC). The workshop was inaugurated by Principal Secretary of the E&IT Department Vishal Dev, who emphasised the state’s forward-looking approach to technology adoption.
“AI is no longer a futuristic concept, but a present-day necessity for efficient governance.
The next decade will be defi ned by intelligence. By equipping our officials with the right tools, we are ensuring that the Odisha AI Mission translates into faster, more transparent, and citizen-centric governance,” he said.
The intensive workshop aimed to demystify AI concepts and provide hands-on experience in practical applications within the government ecosystem.
Key areas covered included drafting and communication, search tools, Chat with PDF, deep research, and data analysis.
Participants also engaged in interactive breakout sessions to test approaches for implementing AI-driven solutions in their departments.
