Paradip: Paradeep Phosphates Limited successfully conducted a mock drill on the ammonia leakage scenario from the ammonia supply line, Wednesday. On the direction of Asst. Director (Factories & Boilers) CK Dalai, the exercise was conducted at the plant site. Safety and fire officials from Kujang Fire Station, NDRF, Paradip Port, Coast Guard Trust, Dock Safety, IFFCO, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Essar Power, Arcelor Mittal Steel, Adani Wilmar attended the drill as observers.
Dalai congratulated the PPL management for showing extraordinary teamwork during such emergency rescue operations. The PPL team led by Chief Manufacturing Officer & Unit Head Pranab Bhattacharyya displayed a brilliant procedure to be followed in the wake of an ammonia leakage scenario. Local sarpanches and various NGO representatives also appreciated PPL’s effort in conducting such an exercise to spread the safety message to the people residing in nearby villages. Jt. General Manager (Fire & Safety) Nihar Kanti Rout conducted the movement. All the senior officials of PPL and neighborhood industries were present and monitored various developments during the drill.
