Sambalpur: The family of Shreyas Kesharwani, an engineering student who died due to alleged ragging at a college in Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh, has expressed dissatisfaction over the chargesheet filed by the AP police in connection with the case.
The Kesharwanis alleged police have not included the names of the college officials in the chargesheet filed before the Juvenile Justice Board, Visakhapatnam April 17.
“The PM Palem police in Vizag have filed chargesheet in the case but not taken the contents of the complaint lodged by me into consideration. The investigation is far from satisfactory. The college authorities had not communicated me when my son was in distress after he was attacked in the college hostel,” said father of the deceased Shreyas.
Shreyas hailing from Sambalpur had died while under treatment at a private hospital in state capital January 6, 2018 after he was allegedly attacked by four students of Sri Chaintanya College in Visakhapatnam.
The family of the student had requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to ensure proper investigation into the case after which Patnaik spoke to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu demanding the probe to be carried by an independent agency.
