Strap: Around 60 stalls from all over India exhibited their finest clothing lines, jewellery and lifestyle products on the inaugural day of ‘Sutraa’
BHUBANESWAR: The inaugural day of lifestyle and fashion exhibition ‘Sutraa’ drew huge footfall at a city hotel here, Thursday.
Around 60 different stalls from all over India exhibited their finest clothing lines, jewellery and lifestyle products. The Bhubaneswar, Odisha, edition kicked off at Hotel Pal Heights February 28 and will run until March 1. A number of designers are currently showcasing their latest collections at the event including TBZ, Avama Jewellers, Shreenathji and Safety Pinz.
The first day witnessed a huge crowd where denizens of the city queued up to buy their favourite items in both jewellery and garments section. Sutraa aims to bridge the distance between connoisseurs of fashion and leading designers throughout the country. The organisers believe in providing service and living up to their magnificent reputation.
Various products ranged from apparel of fashion designers, boutique items, gold and diamond jewellery, red gold jewellery, stone and pearl jewellery, fashion accessories, clutches, purses, bags, herbal products for body care, cosmetics, home décor and furnishing items, gift items, watches and packed chocolates among others.
Interacting with Orissa Post, Nidhi Agarwal from a leading Boutique in New Delhi, said, “Summer season is already here. Hence, I have bought cotton Kurtis, palazzos, linen sarees for the enthusiastic buyers of the city. My mission is to dress up every woman to her utmost satisfaction.”
A seller of diverse handloom products Sudheshna Majumdar, owner of Duheeta said, “This summer, I have showcased linen sarees, matka with muslin sarees, Banarasi sarees, Madhubani sarees, Kashmiri sarees and much more.”
A visitor Pratiksha Padhi said, “I had saved money for this expo from a long time. ‘Sutraa’ caters to the needs of each and everyone through diverse products that it has to offer. From home decor items to garments, the expo has it all. I have come with my mother and sisters to shop to my hearts content.”
Many fashionistas from the movie and TV industry also visited the exhibition. Deepanjali Arora came all the way from Cuttack to buy sarees for her upcoming wedding. Her mother Nisha Arora said, “I had heard a lot about ‘Sutraa’. Hence, I have come along with my daughter to buy jewelleries from Avama Jewellers and some fancy Bengal handlooms which looks very stunning on new brides. I am going to be very exhausted at the end as we have to explore a lot of stalls.”
From rich Satin work to hand woven Kashmiri work, the richness of traditional hand woven clothes simply mesmerised buyers and onlookers.
One of the organisers Raunak Lakhwani said, “The collections are very selective and people are already queing up to buy good products. Many have also requested us to make Sutraa a three or four-day affair, such is the demand for this lifestyle and fashion exhibition.”
What caught the fancy of many is the Kid’s section where various fancy toys attracted the young ones who spent time exploring those toys. The Curio Diaries also had plenty of visitors who bought various home gifts like stylish trays, exotic yet quirky range of tissue bottles, starry t-light holder and much more. Each of the exhibitors tried to allure buyers who were from every corner of the twin-city.
