Basta: An agency from Finland will provide hi-tech healthcare services particularly in paediatrics and obstetrics departments at Basta hospital in Balasore district.
The agency has drawn up its plan and cost estimate. For the last two months, it has been carrying out technical work for the project, it was learnt.
Head of the agency, Nicholas, visited the hospital and took stock of the ongoing work May 14.
Its director Dr Alexander Mandel accompanied by Apurba Ratna, representative of deputy commissioner of Union ministry for women and child development, assistant Dr Mrunal Sothia, CDMO Dr Minakshi Ray and other officials of NRHM visited the Basta hospital Thursday.
Many people’s representatives who were present during the visit drew attention of the officials towards the acute shortage of doctors at the hospital.
Project coordinator Gobinda Desai said the Finnish agency has set September deadline to complete the project.
