Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly and BJD president Naveen Patnaik has been hospitalised, a source said Sunday.
Party sources told PTI that Patnaik was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to age-related ailments.
“The hospital will soon release a bulletin on Patnaik’s health condition,” a senior BJD leader said.
The 78-year-old former Chief Minister had complained of complained uneasiness Saturday night and some doctors had visited his residence, Naveen Niwas, the party leaders said.
Patnaik had returned to Bhubaneswar July 12 after undergoing spine surgery for cervical arthritis in Mumbai. He had left for Mumbai June 20 and underwent the procedure June 22 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He was shifted from the ICU after two days of observation and was subsequently discharged July 7.
The surgery was conducted by Dr. S Rajasekaran – an orthopaedic surgeon and chairman of Ganga Medical Centre and Hospitals, Coimbatore.
