G-20 Youth Summit in South Africa: Odia youth heads Indian delegation

Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable achievement, Odia youth Omm Priyadarshi Chhotaray has been nominated to head the Indian delegation for the upcoming G-20 Youth Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, scheduled from August 18 to 22.

Representing the Central government, he will present India’s perspectives on the economy, environmental sustainability, and youth entrepreneurship before the twenty leading nations, while also engaging in deliberations on pressing global challenges.

The Indian delegation will also meet heads of state from different countries to discuss matters of national interest.

Reflecting on India’s leadership role, Omm said, “The country’s G-20 Presidency in 2023 advanced the vision of universal unity. This year, the theme ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ will form the foundation of the discussions.”

Previously serving as treasurer of the G-20 Youth Group, Omm has represented India at several international forums including BRICS, CoP, and the Commonwealth. He is currently an advisor to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
