Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court has issued notice to the state government regarding the recent policy decision empowering MPs and MLAs to recommend up to 15 most deserving cases of transfer of teachers belonging to elementary and secondary schools in their constituencies.
Though the provision is a one-time measure, which is applicable only for the current educational year, an aggrieved teacher had sought the HC’s intervention, stating the School and Mass Education department has neither authority nor justification for the so-called policy decision.
The petitioner pointed out that pursuant to the order, his transfer has been affected, and the same is unjustifiable.
