In the video, Kailash is seen enjoying a glass of fresh pomegranate juice at a roadside stall. After finishing the drink, he tries to pay, but the vendor repeatedly waves off the money, calling him a “mehmaan”—a guest. Kailash insists that he should be allowed to pay because the vendor runs a business, telling him, “This is your work. It shouldn’t be free. Tell me the price — you must take the money.”
The stall owner, however, stays firm and continues to decline the payment. Another local steps in and explains that Afghans have a deep affection for Indians, which is why they refuse to charge them. With warm smiles all around, the men say, “India is our guest. Hindustan is very good.”
The kindness leaves Kailash visibly moved. He hugs the vendor and several bystanders, promising to return someday. “This is Afghanistan’s hospitality. You people are wonderful,” he tells them.
The comments under the viral video are filled with appreciation for the Afghan people’s warmth. Many users also pointed out that ordinary citizens on both sides continue to nurture bonds of friendship, kindness and humanity—transcending politics and borders.
