Cuttack, Feb 22: The annual high school certificate (HSC) examination, being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will commence Monday. Academicians and the state school and mass education secretary Usha Padhi have advised examinees to keep calm while answering the questions.
According to Simantini Parida, a retired school teacher, it is important for students to attempt easier questions first. ‘‘Wasting time on difficult questions will only make the students nervous,’’ she advised.
Another retired schoolteacher, Bibekananda Behera said the HSC examination is just a step towards more important examinations in future.”
Meanwhile, BSE has decided to depute special observers at all 150 examination centres which have been identified as sensitive.
Officials said, the observers will be stationed at the centres for the entire examination period. They will be deployed in addition to the normal exam squads at different levels.
Notably, a total of 5,92,281 students will sit the annual examination in 2799 centres across the state. The Board has formed 40 central squads with each squad having two members. Each squad will monitor and supervise the examinations in 50-60 centres.
