H&UD min to head all devpt authorities

Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra has been appointed as the chairperson of all nine development authorities across Odisha. According to a notification issued by the H&UD department July 4, Mahapatra will now be the chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), Berhampur Development Authority, Sambalpur Development Authority, Rourkela Development Authority (RDA), Paradip Development Authority, Puri-Konark Development Authority, Kalinga Nagar Development Authority and Talcher-Angul-Meramandali Development Authority. Though ministers earlier served as chairpersons of development authorities, including BDA, the last few years of the BJD regime saw IAS officers being appointed to these posts.
