Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur is set to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) in classrooms with an aim to transform the way students learn and gather knowledge. This announcement was made on the 10th Foundation Day of the institute, Monday. Addressing the event, IIM Sambalpur director Mahadeo Jaiswal said that the implementation of AI in classrooms will enable a transformatinve learning experience. He also shared about plans to organise a Women’s Empowerment Summit in February to further the goals of Vikshit Bharat.
Talking about the institute, he said, “IIM Sambalpur, which began with just 49 MBA students in 2015, is today an institution with 320 MBA students and a ground-breaking 75 per cent female student body. We created world-class infrastructure and process of onboarding more than 60 start-ups under our incubation centre, and promoted international collaborations.” He expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and others who contributed to the building of the institute.
Uday A Kaole, chairman and managing director of MCL, who graced the event as the chief guest, congratulated IIM Sambalpur for its accomplishments and lauded Jaiswal for his successful leadership. Other keynote speakers included Anurag Batra, who was the guest of honour, Nishita Baliarsingh co-founder and CEO at Nexus Power, and Anindya Ghosh, the associate partner at IBM. According to officials, the institute, this year, will have three centres of excellence, a more diverse MBA programme that is in line with National Education Policy’s focused efforts towards international accreditations, and expansion of campus.
