Cuttack: In a joint operation by special excise drive personnel, Lalbag police and Jagatpur police in Cuttack district seized almost more than 500 litres of illicit liquor in the wee hours of Monday.
The cops have also arrested two persons in this connection from Lalbag area and Jagatpur area. The identification of the duo is yet to be ascertained.
The Cuttack DCP has said that the special excise drive is on full force against illegal selling of liquor in the city.
According to a source, the officials conducted the raid acting on a tip-off. The sleuths seized more than 500 litres of liquor from the possession of the two accused. The officials also seized a motorcycle used for the crime.
Cases have been registered against the accused under appropriate sections of penal code in this connection. A detailed probe into their modus operandi is currently underway.
