Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly threw her 6-month-old baby girl in hearth at Salia Sahi here Thursday. The critically burnt baby was first rushed to Capital Hospital and then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. The baby has sustained 70 per cent burns and her condition is very critical, sources in SCBMCH said. While the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, the woman, Suna Pingua, is said to be a mentally ill patient and she threw her baby into the fire after a heated argument with her husband, Raghunath Pingua. She also burnt all his belongings. Nayapalli police have registered a case in this connection and arrested Suna for the crime.
