Kolkata, Nov 19: The presence of batting legend Rahul Dravid in the Indian under-19 camp as their coach is a big boost for the entire side ahead of the next year’s World Cup as they begin their preparations with a tri-series also involving Afghanistan and Bangladesh beginning Friday.
It is not just the U-19 skipper Ricky Bhui but the whole team including fielding coach Abhay Sharma, who are looking forward to Dravid’s valuable inputs.
“He is a man with a vision. I have no words to describe his presence… It’s a learning process for everybody. He does not force things on you but make them realise what is required. I am sure the results will follow and we will be very successful,” Sharma said here Thursday.
The Indian squad comprises 20 talented cricketers who’re yet to play as a team together and the main challenge would be to build the side ahead of the tournament in Bangladesh, January 22-February 14.
“They all are talented and disciplined cricketers and doing really well in first class cricket. We will give a chance to everybody in the squad to show their potential. The focus will be on gelling,” Sharma asserted.
Bhui also said he is looking forward to play under the guidance of Dravid. “It is a proud moment for all of us. He (Dravid) adds a lot of value to the team with his vast knowledge of the game,” Bhui stated.
