Kolkata:The IPL-XI play-off games – eliminator and qualifier 2, have been moved to Kolkata from its past setting Pune, affirmed IPL administrator Rajeev Shukla Friday.
“The GC has affirmed that Kolkata will have the eliminator and qualifier 2, set to be played May 23 and 25 separately,” Shukla was cited as saying by PTI.
Prior, Pune was planned to have both the matches, however with Chennai Super Kings moving their base to Pune from their fundamental home Chennai because of security concerns, Eden Gardens rose as the leader to have the matches.
“We are upbeat to have the play-off matches and are anticipating it,” Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint-secretary Avishek Dalmiya said.
Mumbai will have qualifier 1 and the competition last May 22 and 27 separately.
