Bhubaneswar: Jaga and Kalia, the separated conjoined twins of Odisha, who are presently undergoing treatment at AIIMs, New Delhi, are clinically perfect, the hospital authority stated in a report to the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST).
The report stated that the twin brothers don’t require cranioplasty (neuro-surgical operation) for the next five years and they can be discharged. Both can be shifted to their home state for rehabilitation care, it added further.
They can have post-discharge medical care in their home state, it said.
However, the team treating Jaga and Kalia has expressed their willingness to provide further support. “We shall be happy to provide guidance/care to the children,” said senior administrative officer (coordination cell) of AIIMS, Deo Nath Sah.
Notably, the craniopagus conjoined twins hailing from Milipada village in Kandhamal district were separated by a team of doctors at AIIMS, New Delhi, in October, last year.
