Bhubaneswar: ‘Jay Odisha’, a social service outfit, organised its 16th blood donation camp here Sunday, under ‘Raktadaan’ initiative, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Icons and Sushruta Hospital and Trauma Care (SHTC).
The camp was conducted under the leadership of SHTC CEO and director Chidatmika Khatua, guided by former Red Cross chairperson Kalpana Das.
Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and BJP’s Bhubaneswar district president Niranjan Mishra attended the event.

The event saw participati on of youth in large number, who came forward with enthusiasm to donate blood. Encouraging the donors, Singh lauded their effort and urged other organisations to come forward and organise blood donation camps.
Such small-scale blood donation drives during festive occasions would not only receive divine blessings but also contribute significantly to social welfare, an organiser said.
Jay Odisha president Rudra Narayan Samantaray appealed to groups and individuals to collaborate in taking up such initiatives, assuring support and joint efforts for the greater good of society.
