Bhubaneswar: About 3,317 students appeared for JEE (Advanced) examination for admission to IITs, at nine centres in Orissa, Sunday, including seven in Bhubaneswar and two in Rourkela.
The examination conducted by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) was held in two sittings with Paper I being held from 9 am to noon and Paper II from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The answer keys of JEE (Advanced) will be published on June 5 at www.jeeadv.ac.in.
Many of the students who appeared for the examination found the mathematics
and physics sections of the examination
difficult.
“Maths and physics were really tough. However, I am confident that I will get a good score,” said Karan Singh, one of those who appeared for the examination.
JEE (Advanced) results are crucial for getting admission to the IITs, ISM Dhanbad and other top institutions such as the
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Rae Bareli.
Around 48,000 candidates in the state had appeared for the JEE (Main) held in nine cities across Orissa.
Candidates who wish to take up a course in architecture would have to appear for an aptitude test June 15, the results of which will be published June 19. A total 2 lakh candidates appeared for the examination this year, according to sources.
