Malappuram (Kerala): A nine-year-old boy was allegedly raped by a 36-year-old woman near Thenhippalam here in the district.
Thenhippalam police have registered a case and started a probe into the incident. The accused is close relative of the boy.
According to sources, the victim was facing the sexual abuse for more than a year. The incident came to the light last week after the boy revealed the details of the sexual abuse to a doctor when he was taken to a local clinic for consultation.
After receiving information, the Childline authorities recorded the boy’s statement and forwarded the complaint to police.
According to sources, the woman is boy’s aunt (wife of his father’s brother).
In a similar incident, a woman had been arrested in Kaladi of Ernakulam district for sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy who has cancer.
