Bhubaneswar: KIMS Bhubaneswar department of Endocrinology Head and Professor Dr Sambit Das has been elected as the President of the Endocrine Society of India (ESI), one of the most prestigious professional bodies in the fi eld of endocrinology in the country.
Congratulating Das on his achievement, KIIT and KISS Founder Achyuta Samanta expressed pride over his accomplishment and said his election to the prestigious post is a matter of great honour for the institution as well as the state of Odisha.
Established in 1972, ESI plays a key role in advancing the discipline through academic initiatives, research collaborations, national registries, clinical guidelines and patient awareness programmes both nationally and internationally.
Das is the first Odia endocrinologist in 40 years to be elected as president of the society and also the youngest to hold the position in its history.
