Bhubaneswar: Kissen Kanungo Memorial Lecture was organised at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) here Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, NITI Aayog member Ramesh Chand stressed on development of agricultural sector for inclusive growth of country. He focused on enhancing agricultural production to compete with productivity of developed countries of the world.
He said that formation of Farmer Producers’ Organisation and promotion of allied vocations can solve many problems of small and marginal farmers. As majority of rural income is from non-farm sectors, emphasis may be given on those areas for enhancing rural economy. He advocated for reforming marketing system for strengthening agricultural sector. Chand also interacted with the scientists, faculties and students about agricultural economy of the country.
