Jharigaon: The family members and locals seek the intervention of district administration to bring back the body of a youth who died due to fever in Secunderabad Saturday. He had gone there to work as a migrant labourer.
Tankadhara Goud of Bhalukunadi village under Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district was working as a daily wager along with his family comprising mother, wife and five sons.
When Tankadhara couldn’t continue his work due to age-related problems, his eldest son Rupsingh Goud (25) took the responsibility of running the family by working as a daily wager.
In a bid to earn more, he went to Gujipali in Secunderabad of Telengana state May 10. He worked there as a collie.
Two days ago Rupsingh had fever and his employer first admitted him at a local hospital. When his condition deteriorated he had been shifted to Gandhi hospital, where he lost his life while undergoing treatment Saturday.
The distressed family of Rupsingh is now struggling to raise Rs 50,000 to bring back his body to the village.
The family members and some villagers first went to the Jharigaon police station seeking help. Later Tankadhara and some local leaders including Naib Sarpanch Siddheswar Majhi, ward member Karna Jani, Nilambar Sunani and some other villagers met additional district magistrate Parikhita Sethy and expressed their inability to arrange the amount.
Superintendent of police Vivekananda Sharma had a discussion with the police administration on this issue.
The additional district magistrate and SP assured the bereaved family that all necessary steps are being taken to bring the body back to the village at the earliest.
