Bhubaneswar: A lady traffic constable has earned accolades from several quarters for helping a 70-year-old man to cross a road near the Rajmahal flyover here.
The lady constable, Lizina Barik, was on duty at Rajmahal Square Friday when she saw the septuagenarian man, Madan Panda, finding it tough to cross the road. Barik immediately rushed to his rescue and helped him cross the road by holding his hand. Later, she also arranged an auto-rickshaw for the elderly man which dropped him at his Ganganagar residence.
Panda, who has been staying alone in Ganganagar area under Capital police station limits, has been suffering from geriatric ailments.
