In what is being hailed as a historic move by the Narendra Modi-led UPA government, Article 370 has been nullified in Jammu and Kashmir. The government has proposed Jammu and Kashmir to be a Union Territory with a Legislature, and Ladakh as a separate Union Territory without one.
As a number of reactions started to come in via different media platforms, Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also joined in by tweeting in support of the move.

As he addressed the Parliamentarians, Home Minister Amit Shah informed the Rajya Sabha of the government’s proposal to reorganize Jammu and Kashmir carving out two separate Union Territories has been done in view of constant threats of cross-border terrorism.
With this, the crown state of India will be bifurcated into two Union Territories. While Kashmir and Jammu divisions will have a legislature, Ladakh will be without any legislature.
