Lords’ unused clothes to be buried inside Jagannath Temple

Puri: Strongly following the centuries old scriptures of Sri Mandir, the temple administration decided to bury unused clothes of Lords inside the premises of the shrine.

The decision came at a meeting of Niti Sub-Committee held Tuesday in view of the clothes used by the Lords lying abandoned inside the store since years.

As those clothes are not in use any more, the sub-committee has decided to bury it in Koili Baikuntha (Burial ground of temple) situated inside Sri Mandir, source said.

As per the decision by the Niti Sub-Committee, the daily rituals of Lord Jagannath will be held as per the scheduled timings. The doors of Sri Mandir will be opened before sunrise and Pahuda (rituals related to closing of temple doors at night) will not be done before 12.00 midnight every day.

As per the revised time table of Sri Mandir niti, the doors will be opened at 5.00 am, purification rituals at 5.30, Mangal Alati at 6.00 am, Mailam Tadapalagi at 6.30 am, Abakash ritual at 7.30 am, Rosha Homa at 8.00 am, Surya Puja at 8.15 am, Dwarapala puja at 8.30 am, Besha Sesha at 8.30 am, Gopalaballav at 9.00 am, Sakala Dhupa between 9.30 am and 10.30 am.

Similarly, the time for first Bhoga Mandap has been fixed at 10.20 am. The Mailam Besha will be held between 10.45 am and 11.30 am, final Bhoga Mandap at 12.00 noon, afternoon Dhupa between 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm, second Bhoga Mandap ritual between 1.50 pm and 3.00 pm, Mailam Besha between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm, evening Alati at 6.10 pm, Sandhya Dhupa between 7.00 pm and 8.30 pm, Mailam and Chandan lagi between 9.00 pm and 9.30 pm, Badasinghar Besha at 10.30 pm and Badasinghar Bhoga between 11.00 pm and 11.30 pm and Ratri Pahuda will be done at 12.00 midnight.
