Shalini Dalbehera: For me antique jewellery is something that needs to be deeply cared and preserved. My mother used to tell me that her mother had gifted her many unique jewellery pieces. Therefore, I have decided to get my own set of antique jewellery and customising them.

Debajani Mishra: For me antique jewellery is like a treasure. These days it’s fashionable to own such pieces of jewellery. Currently, I am shopping for my daughter’s marriage and am on the lookout for unique pieces of antique jewellery.

Monalisha Mishra: I often find it tough to select the right set of jewellery, but thanks to my mother (Debjani Mishra), I am here to buy fascinating jewellery that gels with contemporary trends as well as tradition.

Antara Mukherjee: I am a housewife and I am saving money for my daughter’s marriage. For me, antique jewellery is a piece of jewellery that is handed down by one generation to the next. However, nowadays one can customise such jewelleries with American diamonds and some meenakari. It’s a bit expensive, but bridal jewellery doesn’t come cheap.

Deepti Rekha Rath: Being a housewife I am a good caretaker of my jewellery and I do customise them from time to time. You have to wear what’s in trend and antique jewellery is trending now. I have bought two sets from a reputed jewellery house. It did cost me a bit, but I am not complaining as the jadau work on the necklace is a masterpiece.

Abhirupa Sen: This summer I bought two antique pieces – a necklace with matching earrings and a bangle set. Being a school teacher I normally don’t wear jewellery in fear of chain snatchers and miscreants. These pieces are exclusive and for special occasions. The intricate meenkari work on my bangles matches well with my new saree and I’m looking forward to wear it at my nephew’s marriage function. I own of some stunning antique jewellery.

Ajit Hans (Manger at Lalchand Jeweller): The demand for antique jewellery these days is amazing. One can have it customized with precious and semi-precious stones, meenakari, kundan, tarakashi and more. In fact, new and would-be-brides as well as married women are fonder of antique jewellery and we are giving it an oxidised polish to make it look perfect for any occasion.

Sudipta Sahu (Kalika Jeweller): Obviously, the making charges for jewellery with antique look is costlier compared to other jewellery. However, the charm of these ornaments is forever. Nothing can take away their shine and grace. It’s a jewellery to die for.
