Bhubaneswar: The body of a youth was Thursday found hanging in a guest house at Patia under Chandrasekharpur police limits here.
The deceased identified as Amit Kumar Jena, 21, was a resident of Nistipur in Banki of Cuttack
district.
According to guest house staffers, Jena checked in the guest house named Jashoda Homes located at Plot No. GA-190 near Patia square along with his girlfriend Wednesday evening. They also said that there were heated exchanges between Jena and his girlfriend before he
committed suicide.
Jena hanged himself from the ceiling fan with the help of the stole of the girl when the latter was in the bathroom.
Later, the girl called the guest house staffers who brought the body down. They informed the PCR van and sent the body to Capital Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Police registered a case
(564/18) of unnatural death and started an investigation. The girl has been detained at Chandrasekharpur police
station.
