Bolangir: The district police arrested an imposter for allegedly impersonating Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher on social media and asking for a mobile phone from a shop owner.
The police have identified the imposter as 25 years old Lokan Mishra of Barpalipada in this district.
Police said, Lokan had created a Facebook account in the name of the MLA. He then got Sriram Das, owner of a mobile phone shop, as his Facebook friend.
However, Lokan’s plan went bust. When he demanded a smartphone, Sriram promptly got in touch with Saroj Meher. The latter coming to know about the fake account lodged a complaint with the police following which Lokan was arrested.
A trap was laid to arrest Lokan prior to his arrest. The phone was taken to a designated bus stop for deliver as advised by Lokan. Two of the MLAs aides were also present there. When Lokan reached the bus stop to collect the phone he was nabbed.
