Bahanaga: Soro police Saturday morning recovered the body of a man from a shop at Bahanaga market in Balasore district.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sumant Bindhani of Kahalia village under Nilgiri block.
Sumant used to work as a helping hand in Srinibas Behera’s ‘Tarini cycle store’ at Bahanaga market which he joined about six years ago.
According to a source, the deceased had his dinner at Behera’s home Friday night and had retired to his rented accommodation for the night. However, he was seen hanging from an iron railing of the staircase of another shop, just opposite Behera’s shop Saturday morning.
His family members reached at the spot after being intimated of the incident. They have alleged that Sumant has been murdered and the miscreant orchestrated a plot to pass it off as a case of suicide in order to mislead the police.
Police have registered a case and are investigating it from different angles including murder.
