Berhampur: Adjudicating an attempt-to-murder case of 2015 over a land dispute here in Ganjam district, the additional district judge (III) Deepak Kumar Thursday convicted a man and his son and awarded two-year of jail-term to them.
The court also slapped a penalty of Rs 2,000 on Dilip Pradhan and his son Abhimanyu Pradhan of Bira Laxminarsinghpur village under Nuagaon police limits. They would undergo an additional jail-term, if they fail to pay the penalty sum, the court ruled.
According to the case diary, the two assaulted Tikina Pradhan and his son Khali Pradhan of the same village over a land dispute. The Pradhans sustained critical injuries and admitted a hospital.
Police had registered a case and arrested the father-son duo in this connection. The judge pronounced the verdict after examining the statements of several witnesses in the case.
